The other week, I covered the typical ‘Band or DJ’ question for your entertainment. I mentioned the amount of options we now have to hire and include within the day to entertain your guests, and I realised, there is a lot of bloody options!
It’s the new thing to have something quirky and entertaining alongside the usual food, music and cake, and it seems you’re not doing enough if you only include the ‘norm’.
Having been looking for options for my day, I thought I’d share some of the cool and different options I’ve stumbled upon.
I love this idea an think it’s something all your guests can get involved in. It looks great on the lawns of your venue and something you and your guests can come back to time and time again. There are plenty of companies where you can hire 5 hole mini golf sets for anything between £150-£200.
Bouncy Castles aren’t just for kids, and most adults would be happy to see a Bouncy Castle available for adults, including your guests! Again, plenty of companies offer Wedding specific castles for hire, even plain white ones!!
Skittles , Jenga , Chess.
Classic Lawn games that will entertain all types of guests. Giant Jenga and chess are always a good pick, entertaining guests between ceremony and wedding breakfast, as well as into the night. Plus they can look super cute in pictures!
This can even double up as your guests favour, having a caricature at you wedding is super unique, fun and time consuming. Perfect for when pictures are being taken and guests are waiting for the Bride & Groom.
There are plenty of magicians who are perfect for table to table entertainment. They can add flair and energy to your evening and really wow guests too!
Who doesn’t like a bit of poker in a evening? Whether inside or out, a casino element to your reception will add some class to your reception entertaining your guests all through the night.
It’s the latest FAD to have a flash mob or singing waiters who burst into song mid reception, surprising your guests and adding some fun to the day. If you want your guests to be completely surprised, this is the way to go!
Dance Lessons – Barn Dance
I’ve been to a barn dance wedding and its a sure fire way to get the majority of guests on the dance floor, or enjoying everyone else muck up the moves. Whether you’re a dancer or not, you will be dragged onto the dance floor and have fun too. Defiantly something to consider.
If you’re wanting a rustic evening that will encourage your guests to enjoy the grounds, you can do no better than a fire pit and some hay bales. Super relaxed and a quirky alternative. There are sooo many other ideas of entertainment that you can incorporate into your day. Whilst you want to keep your guests entertained, bear in mind how much time with guests actually have to utilise and use the entertainment? There is nothing worse than paying for something, that doesn’t get used!
Do you have any ideas that you would want to incorporate?
Have you been to a wedding and wished there was more entertainment?
