Some times you’ve just had enough. Whether you hate the commute, want to spend more time with family or just want to escape the office, you might want to think about working from home.
Working from home can be a great option for those who want any of the above and really wouldn’t miss the occasional office gossip and shared work spaces.
But there’s just one problem.
Not many businesses allow you to work from home and that means you’ll probably going to need to set up your own company and be self employed.
You might think that to have your very own business or be self-employed, you have to have a large sum of cash to get you started. Nope.
So, in this post, I’m going to outline just a couple of ideas of ways you can work from home and be self-employed and without having to have a large cash injection to get you started.
That’s actually a little bit of trick title , since there’s really no such thing as a pro blogger.
All bloggers are in the same boat. Granted, some just put a little more effort in or get a tad more lucky when it comes to their online audience. If you want to succeed in blogging, you of course need to set up your very own website.
You can do that, quite simply, through a builder like WordPress. You can get your site set up in minutes, and with plenty of templates to choose from, you can have the perfect blog without spending a penny.
Once you get a little more into it, you can think about delving into more complex blogging tools. But for now, keep things simple and easy with something like WordPress.
Once you’ve got your blog up and running, you need to get started on content. Steering it towards a specific audience can help you stand out from the crowd. Think who you want to target and ensure your content will interest them. It’s pretty hard to get posts noticed, so make sure you tag your articles accordingly.
A key way to get posts recognised is advertising and promoting content on social media. Doing this will grow your following steadily, and eventually you’ll have a neat little audience. It’s at this point that your blog can start making money.
If blogging’s not your scene, there is always working through e-commerce.
With e-commerce, you can build up a online shop selling whatever takes your fancy, and whatever you think will appeal to an audience.
You might decide to invest in wholesale clothes and sell it on for an honest profit. This could be a great way to make some extra cash or even get started with a fully functional business. You may even consider hand crafted gifts and cards that are easy to make at home and relatively cost effective to ship.
You may think it’s difficult to set up your own shop online, but services like Cefar actually make the process quite simple. You can get things up and running in no time and then all you have to do is get a supply and find buyers.
If neither of the above take your fancy, you could think about going freelance.
This still counts as running your own business as you’ll be a sole trader and won’t have your own boss. You don’t need money to work as a freelancer. You just need to make sure you build up a solid reputation for quality on line, and there are a variety of ways to do this. If you want to find work as a writer, you need to make sure that you have a lot of guest posts written up, showing a wide portfolio of different writing styles.
Its fairly easy to run your own business from home and you don’t even need money to get started. So what on earth are you waiting for?
