Lifestyle | Be the best you want to be*

With 2018 fasttttt approaching, many of us will be thinking of resolutions we would like to stick to for most of the year.

I don’t know about you, but every year I tend to have similar if not the same resolutions and almost never make it past March without folding!

But I vow 2018 will be different.

But how will I make it different this year?

Instead of sticking to one major change or difference in my life, I vow to just make a minor change, albeit constructive.

I want to be the best version of me in 2018, in every way possible, by finding something that works for me.

Whenever we try and stick to a strict fitness regime, we find ourselves losing the will to live, caving in and promising to give it another go next new year.

But the reality is, with anything we want to embark on, we should be finding a balance that works best for us.

When I was approached by Pretty Little Thing to be involved in their Be the best you wanna be campaign, I was elated. This is exactly what I am after in 2018.

To grow stronger in fitness and health. To work on my mental health by giving me off days and looking after me. To work as hard as I can, but cutting myself slack when it’s not my day.

I will be putting together a comprehensive list of my goals for 2018, but since really considering what I want 2018 to mean to me, I have realised more than ever, how important it is to come out the other end proud, whatever you embarked on and achieved.  Here’s a couple of things to remember when you’re setting yourself some 2018 goals.

Be optimistic | Do not be hard on yourself 

Don’t underestimate your ability to achieve, whether it be a considerable mountain or a quiet long distance jog. Remember, if you don’t achieve it all year round, it’s not a failure.

Be considerate | Do not write it off 

You can have off days, it’s not a crime to miss a leg day, or nibble a nail on a sunday in anxst. You haven’t failed if you do. Don’t write off your achievements if you crumble a couple of days.

You can achieve |

 Whatever you put your mind to, you can achieve. It may make it on your resolution list for numerous years, but you will achieve. Whatever the time frame, it is a achievement.
