And no, we do not have rusty objects lying around in our living. Rather the opposite actually. Instead, we have been incorporating a little more colour in our living room thanks to some un-used vouchers and the gorgeous home range from Matalan. Prior to our little explosion of burnt orange, rust colours and fancy patterns, our living room was much of a blank canvas.
Just to clarify, this isn’t a collaboration, I’m just so ruddy happy with how our living room now looks and wanted to share! Here’s a couple of snaps to showcase our finds!
Before our explosion of colours and print, our living room area just had plain colours, no patterns and just two shades. Fairly boring and lacking imagination. It was calming, yet not comfortable, nor on any type of trend.
We have a rather dark palette throughout our apartment, thanks to the continuous flow of laminate flooring. With lots of gold casts, creams and browns and whites, we really wanted to add a slightly more vibrant yet warming colour into our home.
I had always liked the look of burnt orange and rust like colours, but never daring enough to implement it into our home.
However, on Saturday, when we were rather bored and didn’t want to sit in all day, we ventured out and stumbled across Matalan’s stunning home collection. They had a gorgeous array of soft furnishings including cushions and blankets. Their range of Aztec / African pieces drew me and my fiancée to splurge and venture towards colour.
Just a couple of pieces later and we have a gorgeous splash of new colours and energy about our living area!
We are sooo happy with the bust of colour. For just £60, we created a living room with vibrancy, and just in time for Spring and Summer!
