Alright, late to the party – granted. HOWEVER I have really, and I mean really, started to fall in love and see the real appeal of a good ‘ol podcast.
Journalism graduateĀ here who LOVES being immersed into anything, especially audio, get’s a real kick out of conversation pieces whichĀ capture you. You know, speak to you without you even having to chat back! And cover topics that are relevant and recent and worth 40 minutes uninterrupted.
How did I get into them?
I was starting to get bored with the radio if I’m honest. Sorry, Greg James, you’re great and all but I was fed-up of hearing Calvin Harris and Sam Smith being over-played ( I HATE that song! ) I had heard natter in regards to podcasts and I was a little naĆÆve to think they were just complinations of radio shows best bits in the week. And then I was guided to some podcasts that I now listen to back to back on the way to and from work.
It actually makes the journey so much better. I even want to be stuck in traffic so I can listen to more!
What tickles my Podcast fancy?
I am pretty diverse actually. I just want something that A) I can relate toĀ B) laugh at or C) take something informative and knowledgeable from! Being a blogger, I do listen to a lot of inspirational and motivational podcasts. I like to get some advice through podcasts on how to expand, adapt and grow as a blogger huge part in some of the podcasts and episodes I listen to.
Sell them to me, I’m not sure….
The BEST bit about podcasts is, that there is literally one for everyone. Chances are there will be more than one! Actually, I know so. There’s a podcast for every mood and every time of the day. Whether you’re struggling to sleep, want more info on mindfulness, or need some guidance in being a creative, there is literally a handful of podcasts to tune in and listen to.
There are of course other pro’s to podcasts too!
Like, THEY’RE FREE! iphones come with the podcast app! You don’t have to have an apple account and they download to your phone! Subscribing toĀ Podcasts means you get every new episode sent to your device straight away!
There are of course plenty of apps that can offer your podcasts too, like Soundcloud and acast, both of which can be used on android and apple products.
Oooo another thing, they can be listened toĀ at any opportunity. Some stick them on before bed, or when doing the housework, or on the commute ( like me ) or when they’re working on a blog post say.

I have become a huge advocate and fan of podcasts. If you’re not sure if it’s for you, give them a go! Granted they won’t be for everyone, but hey, you don’t know unless you give them a try!
