Ah Sunday. The best, and the worst day of the week. We all love to lay in, have a gourmet brunch and a early Sunday Roast if possible. The sun will be shining and a brisk British walk is on many agendas. And yet, we all like to have a fairly productive Sunday so we don’t feel like we wasted a whole day off mooching in dirty pjs scoffing cheese puffs – just me?
And then comes the hate part of Sunday. Knowing the very next day entails the start to a whole new week of work. The anticipation of a new week, and the dread of working after such a fantastic weekend off is enough for you to wish Sunday’s didn’t exist.
So, how can we make a new week that bit more bearable? Preparing for the week ahead. Stay tuned, here’s how you can have a much more productive week by doing these small things on a Sunday!

Meal Prep
Monday afternoon’s always spell a quick pop to Sainsburys to grab a meal deal. No good when wanting to a) save money and b) be good with food. Get yourself prepped and meal plan on a Sunday. Batch cook some lunches that you can take early in the week. You’ll thank yourself on Monday when you need bother heading out for food!
Iron
As if I iron. But If I need to, I always leave it till the last bloody minute! Make sure your work attire is primed and ready to go and get ironing that Sunday afternoon. It needn’t take long and will save you some aggro in the morning – you may even be able to bag 10 mins extra in bed!
Reply to emails
Friday afternoon means switch off and most of us pretty much curb the last half an hour of work and emails till the following week. And yet, the dread of early morning catch up is just the worst is it not?
Start managing and tackling your inbox the night before and you will feel so much more prepared for the next week. Just deleting the spam and prioritizing will make that Monday morning a little more manageable.
Diarise Monday
Following on from the above, now would be a great time to grab that diary and jot down the agenda, to do list and any notes you have for the week.
I like to make a bullet point list for each day, in no particular order.
Pamper
Sunday evenings spell a night of pampering and looking after yourself ahead of a busy, pending week. Grab a face mask. hair mash, whatever mask you’ve got and prep and nourish your skin.
Not forgetting a nice steamy shower or bubble bath, as well as a catch up on some Netflix series or a comedy movie.
So, if it’s a productive sunday you are after, and one that’s going to set you up for the week, hopefully this lil post has helped you on the way.
Do you do anything to keep yourself prepped for the week?
